Bachelor of Science Geography
- Geography is a rare course available only in eight colleges under the University of Kerala.
The department came into existence in 2004. We have a total strength of 116 students with seven faculty members and one supporting staff.
It is a six semester course
We teach Geography (Core), Geology & statistics (complimentary, English & Second language up to IV th semester. In the fifth semester four geography papers and an open course paper, sixth semester consist of three geography theory papers and practical papers.
Fourth semester practical includes geography, geology & statistics, fourth semester practical includes only two geography papers.
Department has basic infrastructure such as well equipped lab with advanced equipments like GPS, Total station etc. students can utilize the college library at any time.
Opportunities both in teaching field and as scientific assistants in land use board, CESS, disaster management etc.
Candidates for admission to the B.Sc. Geography should have passed Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the Government of Kerala, with Geography as one of the optional subjects or any Science Group.
