HISTORY AND EVOLUTION:

Department of Geography, Emmanuel College was established in 2004. Since then, it has been playing an important role in the development of the educational environment in the region. Since its establishment, the department has focused on providing quality education and instilling a culture of innovation and research. Land Use and Land Cover generally refers to the categorization or classification of human activities and natural elements on the landscape within a specific time frame based on established scientific and statistical methods of analysis of appropriate source.

2.Socio Economic Studies

This research focusses Social Sciences, Social Structures, Demography and Population Geography, Urban Studies, Planning and Development, Urban Planning and Architecture, Sociology, Social Interaction, Social Anthropology, Cultural Studies, Geosciences, Business Economy, Public Administration.

3.Agricultural Regionalisation Techniques

It is the study of delimitation or delineation of agricultural region. The agricultural regionalization may be done with the help of following methods like – Cropping pattern, Crop combination, Crop Concentration, Cropping Intensity, Agricultural productivity etc.

4.Climate Change Analysis

Climate change is a long-term shift in the average weather conditions of a region, such as its typical temperature, rainfall, and windiness.

5.Research in Medical Geography

Medical geography uses the concepts and paradigms of the discipline of geography to investigate human–environmental relationships of disease, nutrition, and medical care systems, of which maps and geographic information science.

6.Research in Tourism Geography

Tourism geography covers a wide range of interests including the environmental impact of tourism, the geographies of tourism and leisure economies, answering tourism industry and management concerns and the sociology of tourism and locations of tourism.
