Programme Education Objectives: Bsc Geography

PEO1:The graduates of our programme will possess innovative skills to understand and assess the rapid changes in society and the environment and learn to apply their knowledge to solve socio-economic issues and environmental or ecological problems.

PEO2:The graduates of the programme will have a sound knowledge in the concepts of surveying and mapping and have skills in Geographical Information Systems and Global Positioning System technologies and these equip them for higher learning, research and industry.

PEO3:The graduates of the programme will acquire knowledge and grab opportunities to work as teams in a multi-disciplinary environment, communicate ideas effectively with diverse cultures, develop leadership qualities with ethical values and engage in lifelong learning through diverse experiences on tools (devices) techniques and technologies.

 

Programme Education Objectives: MSc Geography

Programme Specific Outcomes (PSO)BSc Geography

PSO1:Students may understand the basic concepts of earth, ocean, atmosphere, and human life along with physical and economic social aspects of India, Kerala and World regions in general.

PSO2:Students may be able to tackle the management of natural hazards, environmental issues.

PSO3:Students will be capable of analyzing the time, slope, location weather etc.… and preparing questionnaires using different techniques of GIS and remote sensing.

PSO4:Students acquire skills to study weather reports, and topographical maps significantly.

PSO5:Students gain the knowledge and experience to use equipment like Clinometer, GPS, Dumpy level etc.

 

Programme Specific Outcomes (PSO)MSc Geography

PSO1:Students may understand concepts, process theories and principles of different branches of Geography, world trade, climatic systems, digital image processing, ecology, GIS etc…

PSO2:Students may be able to apply concepts of climate in agriculture and in their daily life, phogrammetry in various branches of geography as well as other disciplines; remote sensing in hydrology, agriculture etc.… and also to use modern equipment like GPS, Total station etc.….

PSO3:Students may be capable of preparing and comparing climatic data, land use maps, research papers etc.…

PSO4:Students may be able to analyse various aspects of geography such as river morphology, climatic data, transportation networks, land use land cover etc.… using conventional and modern techniques and instruments.
