Library Related Policies
- Users should observe strict silence while inside the library.
- Users should enter their details in the entry register provided at the entrance each time they enter library.
- All users should have their ID cards and should produce before the library authorities when demanded.
- Use of mobile phones, sound equipments and edibles are strictly prohibited in the library.
- Users should keep their personal belongings outside the library.
- Library documents, equipments, furniture should be properly placed and should not be damaged in any way.
- Users should not deface, mark, cut or damage the reading materials in any way. Persons doing so are liable to be fined heavily, apart from being asked to pay the cost of the damage.
- If any user is found indulging in book hiding, stealing or mutilating , disciplinary action will be taken against him/ her.
- User would satisfy himself/ herself before leaving the issue counter as to whether the book is in good condition or not, otherwise he/ she may be held responsible.
- Books borrowed shall be returned on or before the expiry date marked on the label. If a book is not returned by the due date overdue charges will be levied.
- Members shall be responsible to the borrower’s ticket issued to them. Loss of card shall be reported immediately to the library.
- Dissertations / Project Reports, Dictionaries, Encyclopedias and other reference books will not be issued.
Membership
The library follows an open access system which can be utilized by all staff and students.
Library Hours
Library shall be remain opened on all working days from 9 am to 4 pm.
Issue/ Return/ Renewal
- Books are issued from 9 AM to 3.30 PM
- Borrower’s tickets are not transferable.
- The students are allowed to hold 2 books at a time for a period of 7 days.
- Teachers are allowed to hold 5 books at a time for a period of 2 weeks.
- Library books demanded by the user shall be renewed only once for a period of 7 days.
Damage / Loss of Library Materials
- All users are liable to pay an overdue/ fine charge of Rs 1/- perday in case of late return of documents.
- All users will be held responsible for any damage or loss of library materials in their possession and will be required to meet the cost of replacement and processing.
- Users must ensure that the books they borrow are in good condition to avoid being held responsible for any damages noted while returning the books.
- Lost of books must be reported to the librarian immediately and be replaced or paid within 30 days. If the original book is available fine will be double the cost and that of a book which is out of print the fine will be thrice the cost of book. Such books are to be replaced with a Xerox copy by the defaulter.
- Lost library documents that are recovered may please be handed over to the librarian as it remains the property of the college.
