Department of Physics is one of the prestigious departments of the college came into existence in 2009 with undergraduate course. MSc Physics is further introduced in 2015. The department has basic infrastructure facilities to meet the requirement for teaching and research in various areas of Physics. The department has produced large number of graduate students since establishment. Department have a team of eminent professors and lecturers who work relentlessly for the success and welfare of the students and department.
Our vision is to achieve a foundation for academic excellence in the field of physics and academic development of research activities. Our missions are to promote the young minds and discover their talents both the theory and in practical physics, to provide a solid foundation in all aspects of physics and to show a broad spectrum of modern trends in physics, to develop experimental, computational and mathematical skills of students and to promote research creative activities among faculty and students.
The department of physics offers undergraduate and post graduate programs. It is in the main block with 4 core subject lectures and one staff room. Totally 5 class rooms. The lecturer rooms have adequate facilities with proper ventilation and lighting that facilitate a positive learning atmosphere. There are about 5 teaching faculties in Physics department. The department has two computer and printer systems for academic purpose of students and faculties. The department has few books and projects reports for the benefit of the students. There is an audio-visual room for conducting seminars and to make the teaching-learning process more innovative. We have a very good lab facility for both B.Sc and M.Sc students.
We have a common college library and it is a vital component of our institutions research and education mission. Our college library has a very rich collection of books from great thinkers, philosophers, scientists etc. It provides a safe, comfortable and friendly environment to students and teaching faculty that enables learning and advancement of knowledge. The books and periodicals are well organized according to departmental as well as subject based classification schemes. Apart from this we also have online resources and internet facilities which can be utilized by students and teachers within the library. We arrange industrial visit to reputed institutes. We motivate our students and guide them to achieve their academic goals.
