PEO (Programme Educational Objective)

PEO1:Develop a scientific attitude and an interest towards the modern areas of biotechnology in particular and life science in general.

PEO2:Enrich aptitude in Biotechnology without losing the importance of basic science such as Botany to become critical and curious in their outlook.

PEO3:Impart the essential basics in botany, Zoology, chemistry, Biochemistry and Biotechnology.

PEO4:There are two foundation courses, one is focused on the modern information technology, statistics and its application in modern life sciences, and a general introduction and awareness on Biotechnology and its influence in human life.

PEO5:The second foundation course is to give a general introduction and awareness in the general instrumentation and its principles and application in biology and biotechnology, in addition to give biophysical basics.

PEO6:Vocational Core- Biotechnology is to provide general idea about Microbiology , Zoology, Molecular Biology , Immunology , Recombinant DNA Technology ,Plant Biotechnology , Animal Biotechnology , Food and Industrial Biotechnology, Environmental Biotechnology and practical knowledge.

PEO7:Vocational course microbiology is destined to give a thorough and basic understanding in various aspects of classical Microbiology, which forms the basis of any biotechnology application. Students were expected to master the major theoretical and practical expertise from this course.

PEO8:Provide skills to appropriate research, testing and management for a wide variety of biotechnology, food, pharmaceutical, forensic and chemistry applications.

PEO9:Develop proficiency in the theory as well as practical experiments, common equipments, laboratory, along with the collection and interpretation and presentation of scientific data in proper manner.

PEO10:Equipped with knowledge in the modern areas of biotechnology and its application in medical science, agriculture, industry, proteomics, genomics etc.

PEO11:Apart from understanding biotechnology and its power in developing the nation, it will create awareness about biotechnology and will help in eliminating public fear about the contribution of biotechnology and confusion on GM crops, GM foods and transgenic organisms.

PEO12:Students, who pursue this programme and pass out successfully, will surely have an urge to continue higher studies in Botany and Biotechnology and contribute significantly in its development.

 

Programme Specific Outcomes (PSO)

Aftersuccessfully completing the course, the students will be able to:

PSO1: Acquire basic concepts of biotechnology and other areas of applied life sciences. They should be able to understand and design and execute industry oriented experiments in biotechnology using modern biotechnological tools, techniques and equipments.

PSO2: Be proficient in the theory as well as practical experiments, common equipments, laboratory, along with the collection and interpretationand presentation of scientific data in proper manner.

PSO3: Understand the basic knowledge and concepts of biotechnology and other related areas.

PSO4: Acquire the ability to apply their knowledge for practical applications which they can conduct independently.

PSO5: Apply their acquired knowledge in other advanced subject areas like Bioprocess technology nanobiotechnology, Immunotechnology, Pharmacutical Bioptechnology, Proteomics, Genomics, animal and plant biotechnology for the betterment and advancement of their professional career.

PSO6: Learn the theoretical and practical aspects of life sciences (of botany / zoology and biotechnology). To apply the knowledge of biotechnology to demonstrate research skills and develop technology for industrial and medicinal aspects.
