Bachelor of Physics and Computer Application
- Department of Physics is one of the prestigious departments of the college came into existence in 2009 with undergraduate course (Physics and Computer application).The department has basic infrastructure facilities to meet the requirement for teaching and research in various areas of Physics. The department has produced large number of graduate students since establishment. Department have a team of eminent professors and lecturers who work relentlessly for the success and welfare of the students and department.
The department conducts three years (6 semesters) graduation course. 36 students are admitted to this course every year. The course includes 29 theory papers (11 Core papers,8 complimentary papers , 6 English papers and language papers), 6 practical papers, project work and industrial visit.
The department has large laboratory space which includes three laboratories, general lab, electronics lab and computer lab. The students are exposed to many advanced techniques and trained in the use of sophisticated instruments. Department houses labs equipped with instruments to conduct practicals both for core and complementary papers.
Department has basic infrastructure facilities to meet the requirement for teaching and researching in various areas of Physics. Laboratories are equipped with modern instruments which allows students to conduct their projects and researches in the lab. Apart from teaching, faculties actively arrange seminars and discussion forums to improve student’s knowledge. Varied collection of Physics books and periodicals are available in the library. Each student is provided with two cards for borrowing books.
Physicists have employment growth in scientific research and development services. Internship opportunities are also available for physicists. Physics graduates at all level find positions in wide range in career areas including ISRO, VSSC, IHRD, KELTRON, and MET etc.
A placement cell functions in the college. It looks after the placement of the outgoing final year student.
For the career related First Degree Programme in Physics and Computer Application(restructured) a pass in Secondary examination of the state or an examination accepted by the university as equivalent there to with physics as one of the subjects is the eligibilty criteria.
